Estimate the Outcome of Regular Monthly Deposits

The FYERS Recurring Deposit Calculator estimates the maturity value and interest earned when a fixed amount is deposited every month for a chosen tenure. Enter the monthly deposit, annual interest rate and duration to understand the total contributions and estimated maturity amount. Each instalment remains invested for a different length of time, so an RD calculation differs from a single fixed deposit. Actual proceeds depend on the institution’s interest method, instalment date, compounding convention, delayed-payment rules, taxes and premature-closure terms.

Worked Example and Calculation Assumptions

Illustration only: deposit ₹1,000 at the start of each month for 12 months at an assumed 6% annual rate. With quarterly compounding extended to fractional quarters, estimated maturity is ₹12,395, including about ₹395 interest on ₹12,000 contributed. Each instalment compounds for its remaining term. Bank day-count rules may differ; taxes and missed-payment charges are excluded.

Frequently Asked Questions

An RD calculator estimates the maturity amount and interest earned from fixed monthly deposits made over a selected tenure at an entered interest rate.

Interest is calculated on each instalment for the time it remains deposited, using the institution’s compounding and day-count rules. Earlier instalments generally earn interest for longer.

An RD is a bank deposit with an agreed interest rate and deposit terms. A mutual fund SIP invests periodically in a market-linked scheme, so returns are not fixed or guaranteed.

An interest projection does not establish your tax liability or net maturity proceeds. Check applicable TDS and income-tax treatment separately, together with the issuer’s payment schedule and any deductions.

A missed instalment changes the contribution schedule and can affect maturity proceeds. The institution may also apply delayed-payment charges or other conditions. Check its rules and compare the estimate with the payments you will actually make.

Many institutions allow premature closure subject to conditions, a revised interest rate and possible penalty. The calculated maturity value may no longer apply.

Eligible recurring deposits with an insured bank fall within DICGC coverage, subject to the overall ₹5 lakh limit per depositor per bank in the same right and capacity, including principal and interest.

No. Calculating maturity does not create a deposit or submit a bank application. Complete the booking separately through the relevant institution’s authorised channel and confirm its deposit terms.
