While writing this year-end wrap, I felt it should answer one simple question:
What did we build this year that actually improved your trading life?
In this post, I've attempted to summarize our most notable work in 2025.
This was also the year we sharpened our identity, moving from our previous tagline, "Trading Simplified" to "Born to Trade." Personally, this change felt meaningful to me as I've always believed that trading and investing are not casual activities. Success demand discipline, awareness, and control. I've always believed in building a platform that respects that mindset and gives serious market participants the tools they actually need to win the financial markets. I've often said, that "trading isn't for everybody." Just like how professional chess or cricket isn't for everyone. Our new tagline, Born To Trade embodies the spirit required to succeed in this endeavor. In our latest ad campaign, we aimed to communicate the idea. Please watch it here. 🙂
Here's a list of everything we shipped this year to back that belief.
The Unified FYERS App & Web
The biggest structural change this year was the launch of the Unified FYERS App and Web.
We brought Equity, F&O, Mutual Funds, IPOs, and SIFs into a single, cohesive experience with a consistent design language across devices. It was about coherence. We also simplified our UI and gave it a more barebones functional appeal so you can focus on trading with fewer distractions.
The good part is that now regardless of whether you are on the app or the web, the platform now behaves the same way. Watchlists, portfolios, charts, and the options chain follow the same logic everywhere. You no longer have to "re-adjust or tweak" anything when switching devices. A lot of work went into making this happen as we had to ensure that traders face minimal disruptions, if any.
The new unified foundation also allows us to roll out improvements faster and more consistently, without one platform lagging behind the other. Many of the features below were possible only because of this underlying shift.
Trading, Charts, and Technicals
A large part of our work this year went into strengthening the core trading experience: reliable execution, in-depth market visibility with fundamental & technical screeners, heatmaps, analytics and useful news to help with better decision-making. Our AI enabled features help with fast-tracking research and that has been a big win. More about this later.
50 Market Depth on FYERS provides the deepest order book visibility among retail trading platforms in India. We rolled this out across Web, including Options Scalper Terminal and the mobile app.
The key thing is that the top 5 bid/ask view is often not enough for active traders. With deeper order book visibility, you can better judge:
Liquidity concentration
Stacked orders at key price levels
Potential slippage before executing
This gives you a clearer view of market microstructure, especially during volatile or fast-moving sessions. We're trying to improvise usability and we'd love your feedback to make this feature better in 2026.
Instant Pledge We expanded Instant Pledge facility to enable usage across equity intraday, F&O and and most importantly commodities on MCX. Besides reducing the waiting time to unlock pledge margins, you can now use it across asset classes. As most traders would be aware, only a handful of brokerages allow pledge margins across NSE/BSE and MCX. We are now one of them. This packs a punch as it makes collateral margins fungible just like your funds with FYERS. Our aim is to help empower traders to access markets and ultimately become ardent multi-asset traders/investors and this a small step in that direction.
Margin Trading Facility (MTF) We made meaningful improvements to MTF to reduce friction and improve usability:
Reduced interest rate slabs and increased funding limits from 5 lacs to 50 lacs.
Expanded the list of eligible stocks by a lot
Enabled instant activation even without DDPI (reduced hassle)
The intent was to make MTF easier to start, more flexible to use, and more practical for traders and investors who actively rely on it.
Commodity Trading Enhancements For commodities traders, we:
Enabled pledge margin for commodity trading, improving capital efficiency
Introduced expiry-day trading for energy and precious metals options such as Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Gold, and Silver. This will help traders prevent confusion concerning expiry dates and increased margin requirements which I believe hinders many traders from exploring commodity trading meaningfully.
These changes give commodity traders more flexibility around margins and execution timing.
Charts and Indicators On the charting side, we focused on adding context that traders actually use.
We added indicators, which many traders rely on to validate moves and participation. We also expanded the indicator set with tools such as:
OI Profile
Auto Fib
Comparative Relative Strength
True Range
Open Interest Change
ADR (Average Day Range)
This allows more technical analysis to stay natively within FYERS, without having to switch platforms. By the way, we implemented most of these indicators based on customers' feedback throughout the year.
Options Trading Improvements
Options trading became much more efficient this year on our platform.
We launched Basket Mode on both the app and web, allowing you to place multiple orders in one shot directly from the options chain. This is useful when executing structured or multi-leg setups such as Iron condor, straddles, strangles, etc.
The options chain itself was enhanced with:
Custom columns
Custom strike counts
Straddle chain with one-click order placement
Live positions and orders without switching views
This reduces unnecessary navigation during live markets and keeps execution focused.
Positions Grouping We introduced positions grouping to help manage complex, multi-leg strategies more cleanly. Instead of viewing everything as flat positions, you can now logically group related legs and review them together.
FIA: FYERS Intelligent Assistant
One of the most important launches this year was FIA.
As FYERS evolved into a deeper trading platform, the challenge was no longer access to information, but the effort required to interpret it. Understanding market behaviour often meant moving between multiple views and tools to connect related information. FIA was built to reduce this friction by bringing research and reasoning closer to where analysis actually happens.
FIA is designed as a research layer over FYERS’ market data and workflows. It helps you move from raw numbers to usable insight, without relying on scattered tools or manual interpretation.
With FIA, you can:
Build and refine screeners based on market behaviour, not just static filters
Get in-depth stock insights that combine price action, trends, and context
Understand options chain activity with interpretation, not just raw data
Generate chart insights that explain what price is signalling
View portfolio-level insights to assess exposure, concentration, and risk
Over the year, FIA further expanded in two important directions: FIA GPT and FIA MCP.
FIA GPT runs inside ChatGPT. It uses ChatGPT’s reasoning capabilities along with FYERS market data to support deeper, exploratory market research. Instead of only retrieving information, FIA GPT allows you to ask follow-up questions, examine patterns, and understand why something may be happening in the market. This helps build conviction, rather than acting on isolated signals.
FIA MCP is a developer-oriented integration. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), it allows developers to connect their FYERS account once and access FYERS data directly from MCP-compatible tools such as Claude or Cursor. This enables research, analysis, and workflow automation from familiar developer environments, without operating inside the FYERS interface.
Together, these extensions make FIA a research and access layer rather than a chatbot. It supports both market analysis and developer-driven workflows, helping reduce noise, shorten feedback loops, and make insights easier to act on.
Market Analytics, Screeners, and Watchlists
Alongside execution and analysis, a major focus this year was improving how you discover opportunities, track participation, and stay oriented in the market. As markets get broader and more fragmented, the challenge is less about finding data and more about identifying what matters right now. Market Analytics, Screeners, and Watchlists were expanded with that goal in mind. Many experienced traders use multiple screener websites to analyze and synthesize this information. You can now do most of that on FYERS. Rest assured knowing that this will improve manifold in 2026.
Market Analytics
We introduced a dedicated Market Analytics section to help traders and investors understand participation, rotation, and institutional behaviour at a market-wide level.
Instead of scanning individual symbols in isolation, Market Analytics is designed for situations where the first question is where is activity building? rather than what should I trade?
Key capabilities include:
Stock and sector heatmaps These help quickly identify strength, weakness, and participation across the market. Real-time heatmaps with customisable parameters allow you to see whether moves are broad-based or concentrated in specific pockets.
Stock and sector bubble charts Bubble charts make it easier to compare multiple variables at once such as price change, volume, or market capitalisation. This helps surface unusual activity that may not stand out on a simple list or chart.
FII/DII trading activity dashboards These dashboards track institutional participation over time, helping you understand whether flows are supportive, defensive, or rotating between sectors.
Company filings listings Important disclosures are surfaced in one place, making it easier to track announcements without manually checking multiple sources.
Bulk, Block, and Insider deals dashboards These views help monitor large trades and ownership changes, offering additional context around price and volume movements.
Taken together, Market Analytics is meant for top-down analysis. It helps answer questions like where is money flowing?, which sectors are gaining participation?, and what type of activity is driving the move? without jumping between multiple tools or external websites.
Screeners
Screeners were expanded to move beyond being simple filters and closer to a discovery workflow.
Instead of only returning a static list of symbols, enhanced screeners help you quickly understand why a stock is appearing and how it compares to others.
Enhancements include:
Heatmap and chart views within screeners to visualise results rather than read them as rows
New categories and additional screeners to cover more market conditions and styles
Bullish and bearish indicators shown directly, reducing the need to open each symbol individually
Clearer naming, descriptions, and transparency around what each screener represents
Preset views that make comparison across results faster and more consistent
The intent was to make screeners useful not just for shortlisting, but for exploration. You should be able to scan results, spot patterns, and decide what deserves deeper analysis without leaving the screener view.
Watchlists and Global Search
Watchlists were upgraded to better support how traders actually track ideas, themes, and setups over time.
Key improvements include:
Unlimited watchlists
40+ predefined watchlists to get started quickly
Smart watchlists for saved screeners and portfolio-based tracking
Symbol limit increased to 250 per watchlist
Improved manage-watchlist experience with pinning and reordering
These changes make watchlists more flexible, whether you’re tracking themes, sectors, swing ideas, or intraday candidates.
In parallel, Global Search was improved with brand and product keyword mapping and navigation chips. This makes it easier to find instruments and sections even when you don’t remember the exact symbol name, reducing friction when moving across the platform.
APIs and Algo Trading
For traders and developers building systems on top of FYERS, we significantly expanded API coverage, including:
GTT
MTF
50 Market Depth
Auto order slicing
Improved order latency
These upgrades ensure that algorithmic and systematic traders are not constrained by platform limitations and can execute reliably at scale.
FYERS Trader Updates
FYERS Trader also received several important updates during the year.
We integrated FIA, Screeners, and symbol-specific news directly into Trader, improving research and discovery within the terminal. We also introduced smarter hedge benefits and improved multipliers for baskets, while ensuring that Trader continues to remain a clean, focused experience.
The Daily Experience
Beyond headline features, we shipped many improvements that quietly make everyday usage smoother.
App and Platform Convenience
Customisable Quick View within the app, so important information is accessible at a glance
Seamless QR-based login, reducing friction during sign-in
Reports and Post-Trade Review
Enhanced reports across App and Web for cleaner and easier access
ClearTax integration, simplifying tax filing
Funds and Onboarding
UPI fund transfers increased to ₹5 lakhs
A smoother onboarding journey for new users joining FYERS
Investing Features and Flows
Even though FYERS is trading-first, we continued to strengthen the investing experience.
Improved UPI and netbanking flows for Mutual Funds and NFOs
SIFs for systematic investment approaches
Mutual Funds and IPOs fully accessible within the app, without breaking flow
Business and Community
2025 was a milestone year for FYERS as a company.
We crossed 10 lakh+ users, reflecting the trust placed in us by the trading and investing community. We also became an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified organisation, placing FYERS among a small group of firms that meet these information security and operational standards. This certification reinforces our focus on security, risk management, and operational discipline as we continue to scale.
One of the most important internal milestones this year was a full-scale disaster recovery (DR) validation. We operated FYERS entirely on our backup systems for a full week, not as a simulated drill but as a live operational exercise. The objective was simple and critical: to validate that trading, risk management, and other core services can continue smoothly even during unforeseen situations.
Running the platform end-to-end on backup infrastructure strengthened our confidence in the resilience of our systems, processes, and teams. It ensured that failover mechanisms, monitoring, and operational readiness work as intended under real-world conditions, not just in controlled tests.
On the community front, I was included in Businessworld’s BW Disrupt 40 Under 40 this year. The recognition reflected the broader journey of building FYERS as a bootstrapped, technology-first company, and the consistent work done by the team to focus on product quality, platform reliability, and long-term thinking rather than short-term growth.
FYERS Foundation Through the FYERS Foundation, we expanded our community impact:
Online scam awareness: Initiatives in association with the Bangalore City Police, helping spread awareness about financial fraud. Besides that, we also provided the much-needed infrastructure support for the police in the required areas of the city amongst other things.
Planting Trees: Our sustainability initiative focused on building a greener future. We planted over 10,000 mango trees in rural Karnataka over the last few months. Among many social causes, we felt that this could be our little climate initiative that made us feel happy and involved in hopefully making our environment a wee bit better.
Mid-day Meals for Children: Supporting young children through the Akshaya Patra Mid-Day Meal Program sponsored by us. It was humbling and we hope to do more in the future.
Looking Ahead
There’s a lot we’re looking forward to building in 2026. We’re working on meaningful additions across FYERS, especially around automation and options platforms. If there are things you’d like us to build, improve, or rethink, do share your thoughts in the comments. We do read them and, I also try to respond as much as I can.
We hope that you've had a great trading year! Thanks for trading with us. Your patronage means a lot! Will do our best to level up your trading on FYERS. 🔥
Happy New Year!
