Quotes

This API allows you to get the latest quotes for one or more symbols in a single request.

USE CASE

Refresh the latest price, change, volume and best bid/ask for your watchlist in one request.

Note

Live Streaming — Stream live quote updates through the Data Socket. View Data Socket - Symbol Update documentation.

Details

  • The Quotes API retrieves the full market quotes for one or more symbols provided by the user.
  • Your app needs the Market Data permission. Quotes, Market Depth and Historical Data are part of that permission template.
  • Send each symbol in EXCHANGE:SYMBOL-SERIES format, for example NSE:SBIN-EQ.
  • Each symbol comes back as its own entry with n (symbol), s (ok or error) and v (values). Check s for every symbol.
  • If you call the URL directly, URL-encode symbols with special characters, for example M&M as M%26M. The SDKs do this for you.
  • Where the Call Auction Session does not apply, imbalance, mkt_imbalance and reference_price return 0, and indicative_price returns the last traded price.
  • The cmd field is deprecated. Do not rely on it.

Plan limits

Standard plan

  • Up to 50 symbols per request

Prime plan

  • Up to 1,000 symbols per request

For rate limits and all other plan details, see Plans & rate limits.
