Futures Chain

This API allows you to get the currently available futures contracts for an underlying symbol.

USE CASE

Find the futures contracts trading now for an underlying and compare their prices.

Details

  • The Futures Chain API gives the list of currently available futures contracts for an underlying symbol, along with the last traded price and the change for each contract.
  • The response contains the underlying symbol followed by its available futures contracts. The underlying entry is returned with an empty expiry.
  • Pass the underlying symbol, for example NSE:NIFTY50-INDEX, NSE:SBIN-EQ, BSE:SENSEX-INDEX or MCX:CRUDEOIL26SEPFUT.
  • Each entry in data returns symbol, fyToken, lp, ch, chp, expiry (epoch value) and volume.
  • A missing or invalid symbol returns an error. Check symbols against Symbol Master first.
  • Only currently available contracts are listed. For expired contracts, start with Get Expiry Dates.
  • Rate limits differ between the Standard and Prime plans. See Plans & rate limits.
