Data Socket - Lite Mode
This WebSocket allows you to receive only the last traded price of a symbol.
USE CASE
Stream just the latest price for a ticker strip or a simple price trigger.
Details
- The WebSocket API provides a lightweight and efficient "Lite Mode" for receiving only the Last Traded Price (LTP) updates of specific stock symbols. This mode is designed for users who require real-time access to LTP data without the additional overhead of subscribing to other stock data fields. The Lite Mode allows for seamless integration into applications where only the latest stock prices are needed.
- In Python, set
litemode=Truewhen you create the socket;litemode=Falsegives the full update. In Node and Web JS, callmode(LiteMode); Web JS can switch back withmode(FullMode). - In the sample, a lite message has only
symbol, ltpandtype(sf). - Volume, day open, high and low, change and best bid and ask are not sent in lite mode. Use full mode for them. See Symbol Update.
- Subscribe as usual, for example with
data_typeset toSymbolUpdate.
