Market Status

This API allows you to check the current trading status of all exchanges and their segments.

Check whether a market is open before your bot starts sending orders.

Details

Fetches the current market status of all the exchanges and their segments
The response has one row for each exchange, segment and market_type (NORMAL, ODD_LOT, CALL_AUCTION2 or AUCTION). Pick the row that matches your instrument.
Match rows using the numeric exchange and segment codes. See Exchanges and Segments.
The CAS statuses (CTS_CLOSE, CAS_START, CAS_MKT_ORD_RESTRICT, CAS_END) apply only to CAS-eligible symbols. Check isCasEligible in the Symbol Master JSON.
Market Status is part of the Transactions Info app permission, which the Order Placement permission also includes.
Rate limits differ between the Standard and Prime plans. See Plans & rate limits.

Response Attributes - For each exchange market segment

Attribute	Data Type	Description
`exchange`	int	The exchange in which the position is taken. View Details
`segment`	int	The segment in which the position is taken. View Details
`market_type`	string	Type of market/session. Possible values: NORMAL, ODD_LOT, CALL_AUCTION2, AUCTION.
`status`	string	Current market status. Possible values: PREOPEN, OPEN, CLOSE, POSTCLOSE_START, CTS_CLOSE, CAS_START, CAS_MKT_ORD_RESTRICT, CAS_END.

Market Status Definitions

Status	Description
`PREOPEN`	Pre-open session is active.
`OPEN`	Normal trading session is active.
`CLOSE`	Trading session is closed.
`POSTCLOSE_START`	Post-close session has started.
`CTS_CLOSE`	Continuous trading has ended for CAS-eligible symbols.
`CAS_START`	Closing Auction Session(CAS) has started.
`CAS_MKT_ORD_RESTRICT`	Market orders are restricted during Closing Auction Session(CAS).
`CAS_END`	Closing Auction Session(CAS) has ended.

Note: CAS statuses apply to CAS-eligible symbols. CAS eligibility can be identified using the isCasEligible field in the Symbol Master JSON file section.
