Early Expiry of IDFC Futures and Options Contracts Due to Merger

As per the circular dated October 4, 2024, there have been changes in IDFC Ltd. F&O contracts in view of the upcoming merger between IDFC Limited and IDFC First Bank. The following important updates are applicable to IDFC Futures & Options (F&O) contracts:

  • From Monday, October 7, 2024, no new positions in IDFC Futures & Options contracts will be allowed. Please ensure that no fresh trades are initiated beyond this date.

  • All existing IDFC Futures & Options contracts for October, November, and December will expire early on October 9, 2024 due to the merger with IDFC First Bank.

  • Clients with open positions must ensure they maintain sufficient contract value to cover their positions. Any positions that do not meet the required margin or contract value will be squared off on October 9, 2024.

  • The final settlement price will be determined based on the closing price of IDFC in the Capital Market segment on October 9, 2024.

  • The mark-to-market (MTM) settlement for all Futures contracts in IDFC will occur on October 10, 2024 (T+1 day).

  • All positions in IDFC Futures & Options contracts will be settled through physical settlement after the expiry on October 9, 2024, and will be netted with obligations in the Capital Market segment.

  • Any IDFC shares pledged as collateral will be unpledged on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

  • From Monday, October 7, 2024, no new Margin Trading Facility (MTF) positions will be allowed in IDFC. Existing MTF positions will be squared off on October 9, 2024.

  • From Monday, October 7, 2024, IDFC will no longer be available for Intraday trading.
