1 month agoWe are deeply saddened by the unfortunate landslide at the Anakkampoyil-Kalladi-Meppadi tunnel project site in Wayanad. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and their families.Our immediate priority is supporting the ongoing rescue and relief operations. We are extending our full cooperation to the district administration emergency response agencies and all concerned authorities while assisting in efforts to identify and account for all personnel at the site. The incident occurred during an active monsoon spell amid exceptionally heavy rainfall in Wayanad. The India Meteorological Department had issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall across parts of Kerala while preliminary data from the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority indicates that Wayanad received approximately 265 mm of rainfall in the preceding 24 hours-among the highest recorded in the district this monsoon season.
