Smart Orders, Now Simplified

When you place a trade or make an investment, what you want to do next can vary. You may want to set a Target and Stop-Loss for a trade, trail the Stop-Loss to protect gains as the price moves in your favour, give a Limit order only a certain amount of time to execute, build a position gradually across different price levels, or invest regularly in a stock or ETF based on the conditions you set.

We built FYERS Smart Orders around these different needs. Earlier, many of these capabilities were grouped behind a common Smart toggle. While that kept them together, it also meant you had to know where to look before you could use the feature you needed.

We have now changed that experience by placing each capability closer to the action it naturally belongs to. Trailing Stop-Loss is now available with Smart Stop-Loss and Target. Smart Limit is part of the Limit order flow. Smart Step and Smart SIP can be accessed directly from Symbol Details.

The idea is simple. Instead of making you first look for a Smart Order feature, FYERS now brings the relevant capability closer to what you are already trying to do.

Trailing Stop-Loss, Now With Smart Stop-Loss and Target

When you set a Target and Stop-Loss for a trade, you may also want the Stop-Loss to trail as the trade moves in your favour, helping you protect gains along the way. Trailing Stop-Loss is now available as part of Smart Stop-Loss and Target, bringing these trade management controls together in the same flow.

You can set your Target and Stop-Loss while placing the order, with the option to enable Trailing Stop-Loss when required. For example, suppose you buy a stock at ₹1,000 with a Stop-Loss at ₹980 and set a trail value of ₹10. As the stock price moves higher, the Stop-Loss can move higher based on the trailing value you have set. This helps you protect gains without having to keep adjusting the Stop-Loss manually.

With this change, you no longer need to access Trailing Stop-Loss separately through the earlier Smart Order flow. You can manage your Target, Stop-Loss, and Trailing Stop-Loss together through Smart Stop-Loss and Target.

Smart Limit, Now With Limit Orders

A Limit order lets you decide the price at which you want to trade. But sometimes, you may end up waiting for the market to reach that price. After a certain point, you may no longer want to keep waiting and would otherwise have to cancel the pending order manually.

Smart Limit lets you decide this upfront. Suppose you want to buy 100 shares at ₹1,000 and are willing to wait only until 3:00 PM. You can set 3:00 PM as the End Time and decide what should happen to any quantity that is still pending. You can either cancel the remaining quantity or convert it to a market order. If you choose to convert it, the pending quantity will be converted to a market order after 3:00 PM. This market order will be executed based on Market Price Protection (MPP).

Smart Limit is now available under Validity in the Advanced section of the order window when you place a Limit order. So, along with deciding your price, you can also decide how long you are willing to wait for the order to execute.

Smart Step, Now From Symbol Details

Sometimes, you may not want to enter a position all at once. You may prefer to build it gradually as the price moves.

Say a stock is trading at ₹500 and you want to buy 100 shares. Instead of buying the entire quantity at ₹500, you can use Smart Step to spread your entry across different price levels. For example, you could buy 20 shares for every ₹5 fall in the stock price. This lets you build the position gradually instead of committing the full quantity at a single price.

The same approach can be used when exiting. Rather than selling the entire position at one price, you can spread the exit across multiple levels.

Smart Step is now available directly from Symbol Details, so you can start setting it up while you are viewing the stock.

Smart SIP, Now From Symbol Details

When you invest regularly in a stock or ETF, you may not always want to buy at any price simply because the SIP date has arrived. You may want the investment to go through only when the price is within a range you are comfortable with.

For example, suppose you want to invest in a Gold ETF every month, but only when its price is between ₹90 and ₹100. With Smart SIP, you can set this range along with your investment schedule. If the ETF is trading within the range on the scheduled date, the investment goes through. If it is outside the range, that instalment can be skipped.

You can also set up a step-up to increase your investment amount over time. This lets you gradually increase your investment while continuing with your regular schedule.

Smart SIP is now available directly from Symbol Details, so when you find a stock or ETF you want to invest in regularly, you can set it up from there.
