I always see different PNL numbers in Fyers Journal & In Verified PNL.
When I contacted FYERS Support, they mentioned that they are using two different calculations methods for Journal and Verified PNL.
**WHY SHOULD THAT MATTER TO A USER ? **
At the end of the day, there should be one Profit/Loss Number that has actually incurred which I want to know with full clearity.
Journal showing something different and Verified link showing different creates confusion aswell as suspicious overlook.
Also, we dont have any documentation explaining the calculations and logic behind both the version if you guys really have a point to keep them that way.
Weighted average method and FIFO method are two different calculation methodology being used in P&L reports. While few clients need the reports to be in FIFO based, some clients prefer weighted average calculation. In order to cater both the requirements recently we launched Global P&L report for FIFO method. Here user can toggle between Weighted average and FIFO based reports based on the need. And for Verified P&L the calculation methodology been followed is FIFO.
We are working on providing the FIFO based Journal P&L. Once this feature is out user will have the flexibility of choosing between the FIFO and Weighted average reports for Journal P&L.
The value been showed in Journal is the realized P&L on that day. The difference you are seeing should be due to the unrealized position and expenses since Expense and Unrealized position value will not be considered in Journal. You can refer to the realized P&L column of your Weighted average global P&L report and match it with Journal. We will soon come up with a support article which will explain different P&L method and its calculation methodology. Hope it clarifies your query.
