Suppose I have 100 shares with buy price Rs 100 and another 100 shares with Rs 200 of the same stock. So average price is Rs 150 for 200 stocks and total holding is of Rs 30,000.
Assuming no haircuts are there
Scenario 1=> I pledge 100 shares out of 200 , then what is the pledge amount will be considered. If I want to sell the remining 100 unpledged shares then what amount I would be getting in my demat.
Scenario 2 => I pledge all 200 shares and then unpledge 100 shares after few days. Now , if I want to sell these unpledged shares , what is the amount be credited to my demat account.
Pledge amount and selling proceeds in FYERS demat account scenarios:
Scenario 1:
Pledge amount: Since there are no haircuts in this scenario, the pledge amount will be equal to the average price multiplied by the pledged shares: 150 (average price) * 100 (pledged shares) = Rs. 15,000.
****Selling remaining shares: ****When you sell the remaining 100 unpledged shares, you will get the current market price for each share credited to your demat account. This amount will not be affected by the pledged shares.
Scenario 2:
****Initial pledge amount: ****Similar to scenario 1, the initial pledge amount will be: 150 (average price) * 200 (pledged shares) = Rs. 30,000.
Unpledging shares: When you unpledge 100 shares, they will become available for selling or other actions. However, the initial pledge amount of Rs. 30,000 will still be applied to the remaining pledged shares (100 shares).
Selling unpledged shares: If you sell the unpledged 100 shares after unpledging, you will receive the current market price for each share minus any applicable brokerage charges and taxes. The Rs. 30,000 pledge amount will not directly impact the proceeds from selling these unpledged shares.
