Can NRIs pledge shares held in their NRO Demat account to the custodian (Orbis) and utilize the margin for trading in F&O. Is this practice permitted under the current RBI regulations. If it is allowed by regulatory guidelines, does Fyers have any plans to provide this facility to NRI clients in the near future?

Hi @102169731502130753676, yes, you can pledge shares from your NRO Demat account, but you will need to have a custodian account with Orbis. You can only trade in the cash segment through your Fyers account; for F&O trades, you will need to use the custodian account. The pledge process is offline. To access the collateral benefit for F&O, you will need to re-pledge your shares with Orbis, after which you can utilize the collateral amount for F&O trades.
It’s already available. Please read this updated article to learn more about the process.
