I want to get my mutual funds converted to Demat form and show in my Fyers Demat account. What’s the Procedure? Which form to download? From where to download? Where to submit? What shall be the charges? etc. Please guide

You can download the Dematerialization Request Forms here.

Dematerialization Request Procedure is as below:

  • The client has to fill in the DP ID.
  • The name should be mentioned in the form as per Demat A/c.
  • The client has to sign in 2 columns (Mandatory)
    1. Signature as per DP
    2. Signature as per RTA
  • DRN & DRF numbers should be mentioned on the form.
  • Along with 2 Copies of the duly filled Dematerialization Form, submit 1 self-attested PAN card copy and a self-attested mutual fund statement or physical certificate for equity.

The client /Broker has to fill in the details i.e., Name of the holder, Quantity, Script name, Folio number, Certificate number, Distinctive number, etc.

I have 6 mutual fund SIP’s going on for the past 5-6 years with different AMC’s and mutual fund houses. Some are Regular plans and some Direct plans(None are ELSS). I want to transfer all units to demat account. A few queries regarding mutual fund transfer to demat account:

  • After transferring my mutual fund units into demat account, do I have to stop future sip’s in those AMC’s or it’ll automatically stop?
  • Is the transfer procedure same for regular and direct plans or different?
  • Two SIP’s are in my wife’s account. I want to transfer those units also in my demat account(ofcourse with her permission only). What is the procedure? In case, unit redemption and then reinvestment is advised, kindly let me know the tax implications for the same.

I have two questions on your above reply..

  1. Where can I find the DRN & DRF numbers? I thought it is the broker/fyers who generates this numbers. Please correct me if I am wrong

  2. Can I also convert ELSS schemes to demat and pledge them for derivatives trading?
