Long 1 Year expiry token for non-trading API apps

Hi,
Since new changed applied from april that there is now distinction between trading and non-trading api apps. Since non-trading api apps can be only used to get historical or live data, so can you provide a long lived token like for 1 year signed JWT token so we don’t have to sign in again and again.

This same feature is available in Upstox can you provide as well.

Hi Charan,

Unfortunately, we don’t support longer‑expiry tokens because of security concerns, and regulations require daily token generation. You can generate the token easily using the TOTP auto‑login flow. I’ll DM you the script so you can schedule it each morning before the market opens to get a new valid token.

Will you please provide knowledge about how anyone can create a non trading api first time? I have tried & it asked for webhooks and secret key.

It is similar to activating a trading app. Webhooks are optional; without webhooks also, you can create a “Non‑trading app”.
