Hi,
Any reasons why the intraday for NRI Non PIS customers are not enabled. All other major discount brokers have enabled. Any inputs on this would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi @ql93OBiZb8 , Hi, thank you for raising this and for sharing your feedback.
As per the applicable NRI regulatory framework, NRI equity transactions are required to be settled on a delivery basis, and short selling is not permitted. This is also reflected in the current NSE NRI trading guidelines. Refer to FAQs FAQs - NRI Trading Account - NSE India - Point no 24.
Accordingly, equity intraday trading is currently not enabled for NRI accounts at FYERS, in line with our regulatory-compliant process.
Thanks for your response.
Does this mean that other stock brokers who provide intraday trading facilities to their NRI non PIS customers are doing so in violation of the applicable regulations?
Or are there any other factors that you consider when enabling this facility for your customers, apart from the FAQ published on the NSE website?
For example, Zerodha appears to have approval to provide this facility to its customers, whereas Fyers is currently unable to offer it. I would like to understand the rationale behind this difference, especially as a long-term Fyers customer.
This clarification would help me make an informed decision regarding my stock broker and take the appropriate action going forward.
Thanks in advance for your response.
Regards,
Sibi
Hi @ql93OBiZb8 , The NSE FAQ unambiguously establishes that Non-Resident Indians are prohibited from engaging in intraday trading within the cash segment. Our commitment to regulatory compliance is unwavering, which is precisely why we must respectfully decline to move forward with this request. Adhering to these guidelines isn’t merely a procedural formality—it’s fundamental to maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of our operations. Thank you.
Hi @Sravan_Kumar ,
Thanks for your response. However, it doesn’t address my previous question, so I think we can close the conversation here. Thanks again.
