If I have placed a limit sell orders at my target price level, I should be able to place stop loss limit order also for the same quantity at my stop loss price, isn’t it? My stop loss order is getting rejected with this message, “EDIS QTY NOT AVAILABLE TO SELL INSUFFICIENT QTY”

Hey Sathya,

You can place either stop loss or target to sell your holdings. If you have a Target order placed then you’ll not be able to place a stop-loss order as it’ll be considered as a separate order. Short sell in CNC is not possible. Hence, your order is getting rejected.

Hope this helps!

So, if i have a sl order and wish to square off, do i have to cancel the sl order first? Asking this since i ran into the error below when i tried to square off. I then had to cancel the sl order and only then exit the postion.

error - RMS:2210XXXXXX:NSE,OPTIDX,43166,BANKNIFTY Jan2021 31500.0000 CE,INTRADAY,2021 01 28 00:00:00,XVXXX,S,50,I,436.3,FUND LIMIT INSUFFICIENT,AVAILABLE FUND

Thanks Sounder. Just my thought - Price is either going to go down and hit the Stop Loss (or) go up and hit the target (or) stay somewhere in between the two. So, in reality, it may not amount to short sell. When either of these orders get executed, then, the other order can be deemed as short sell and rejected. Is that not possible? Is there any other way, where I can specify stop loss as well as target for my holding? Kindly clarify.

How to place exit order on fyers Mobile app. Suppose I purchase share at 100, now price 104 and I want to place sell order at 110, then how can I set order for it.
