I did tejas..Margin penalties are over night positions + deficit 20% margins of total value that i got & that’s my negligence for mistaking early pay-in as early settlement kind off.

after those penalties are imposed i talked with customer service found out overall funds left

then last trade i did intraday trades selecting intraday option squared off then after next day i bought CNC and iam holding it. i got penalty again -i called and asked and they said they will recalculate and call me back. I didn’t got any call later

Again why allow it to do legally when its being said its illegal and get penalties- why allow to sell a cnc position when their is no 20% margin left.

Well, traders generally don’t want to miss out on market opportunities and are willing to pay penalties. If brokers blocked clients’ funds to help avoid penalties, they wouldn’t be too happy. Over a period of time, this has become a norm. The only issue is that majority of traders are not aware of how margin penalties work.
