Shruthi Shetty, As per the DM , you mentioned that 14782.30 would cover my trades, which I’ve shared. However, this amount hasn’t been credited to my account. Consequently, I have a few questions:
- Can I claim any additional amount that I haven’t received based on your calculations?
- In your response, you mentioned that the buy average and tax P&L are calculated using different methods. Could you clarify which method you follow for each?
- I’ve been experiencing this issue for the past two months. Is this problem specific to my account, or are others facing similar issues?
- Could you explain the underlying issue Instead of extending the time limit, why not disclose the problem you’re encountering with my account?
I have calculated the amount based on the information you provided in the chat, @somanathan.nair.8nndqkep. If the details are correct, you should receive the same amount.
- If that is the case, you can raise a ticket and receive a refund.
- The buy average in global P&L is calculated using the weighted average method and tax P&L is calculated using the FIFO method.
- Please refrain from directly comparing with global P&L and tax P&L reports as there may be slight discrepancies between them.
Which method provides profits to the client, FIFO or weighted average, so that I can claim the refund?
Are you paying profits to the client based on a weighted average calculation method?
you acknowledge that there is a difference between the global P&L and the tax P&L, and should they differ so significantly? What is the hesitation in admitting that it is an issue on your platform?
As discussed in the chat, profits are calculated using weighted averages. If there are any discrepancies, you can claim them. However, our team is already working on displaying both calculations in global P&L on our platform. Stay tuned!
As per your calculation, I have not received that much amount. Could you please assist me in claiming the refund?
Which amount will be credited to my account? Is it calculated using weighted average or FIFO method?
@somanathan.nair.8nndqkep, as mentioned earlier, the calculated amount is based on the information you provided during our chat. However, if you notice any discrepancies in the profits calculation, kindly raise a ticket for a refund. Please keep in mind that the calculation is based on a weighted average.
Weighted average only works when all positions are closed. If you have sold a partial quantity of any stock and the remaining stock is calculated using the FIFO method, you will obtain the actual amount. I have been attempting to explain this to the team for the past two months, unfortunately, they have either not recognised or deliberately ignored that issue. When calculating using the FIFO method, no discrepancies are found when selecting any dates in the global P&L. The P&L must display the exact amount when selecting any dates. If it shows a mismatch, it is likely due to issues with your platform. While platform issues are understandable, hiding them is not professional behaviour. Fyers has almost 9+ years of experience and over 5 lakh+ customers. Please take a look at some other brokers’ platforms to see if they encounter similar issues. I have attached a screenshot of the largest brokers in India; observe how neatly they present the P&L section without any discrepancies when selecting different dates. Additionally, there are no restrictions on date ranges.
