No, a sole proprietorship cannot open an account as it is not considered a non-individual business entity. It is neither an individual nor a business entity. Since a sole proprietorship is represented 100% by a single individual, you will have to open an individual account in your name. However, you can link the sole proprietorship bank account. Kindly ensure that the proprietor’s name should be mentioned in the bank statement of the sole proprietorship. In case it doesn’t, then the bank has to give a confirmation letter.
