I want to make this discussion thread a community participation wherein anyone can post a bullet point highlighting a hitherto unavailable feature of the Fyers Platform and Fyers Api which is required/desired for serious back testing of strategies.
Anyone can add requirements through comments, but please ensure to read the existing bullet points and comments to avoid duplication. If you have the same requirements remember to like the post so that the Fyers Team takes notice ( I do not know what would make them to )
This list will grow over time as I come across more requirements.
Fyers Platform
- Demo Demat Account with adjustable Paper/Virtual money which will be accessed via the same Fyers Api as our Real Demat Account. (This is the backbone requirement for serious algorithmic testing in real market environment) Option to reset the Demo Account with Virtual Money (To test a different strategy starting afresh). Therefore, to go live we just have to switch to our Real Demat Account.

Fyers Api
- To Logout from Api Server
- To detect state (Logged In/Logged Out)
- To receive Hearbeat message [Combination of Server Status + UTC Server Time + Market Open/Closed Status ] from Api Server
- To receive Demat Account number(s) [I assume we can have more than one demat account] so that trades will be associated with it (Demo and Real)
- To subscribe and unsubscribe to symbols directly via api (not just websockets)
If nothing else then this will serve as list for me in searching for alternatives.
