I found the error in the code,,, actually the documentation of fyers itself is wrong.

1. ws.FyersSocket.websocketdata = custom_message

2. fyersSocket = ws.FyersSocket(access_token=feedtoken, run_background=False, log_path='C:/)

3. fyersSocket.subscribe(symbol=symbol, data_type=data_type)

refer above three lines of code

in 2. we initialize a new ws.FyersSocket object as fyersSocket. then we use that object to subscribe to symbol in 3.

but line1 . (ws.FyersSocket.websocketdata = custom_message) uses another object ws.FyersSocket to handle the callback function custom_message.

which is wrong, instead of (ws.FyersSocket.websocketdata = custom_message) it shud be

(fyersSocket.websocketdata = custom_message) and it shud be placed at the middle.

so essentially the code should be:

1. fyersSocket = ws.FyersSocket(access_token=feedtoken, run_background=False, log_path='C:/)

2. fyersSocket.websocketdata = custom_message

3. fyersSocket.subscribe(symbol=symbol, data_type=data_type)

also, its better to subscribe the symbol line code 3.0 on a different thread to be able to execute the remaining lines of code. something like below

fyersSocket.websocket_data = custom_message

def subscribe_data (symbol_subscribe):
